Step-by-step guide to export your Instagram followers and following data
Follow these simple steps to download your Instagram data in JSON format, which you can then upload to SocialDiff.io for analysis.
Open Instagram Settings
Open the Instagram app on your phone or go to instagram.com on your computer. Navigate to Settings > Accounts Center > Your information and permissions.
Request Download
Select 'Download your information' and choose your Instagram account. Select 'Some of your information' and check only 'Followers and following'.
Choose JSON Format
Important: Select 'JSON' as the format (not HTML). Choose 'Low' or 'Medium' quality since we only need text data. Set date range to 'All time'.
Submit Request
Click 'Submit request'. Instagram will prepare your data and send you an email when it's ready. This usually takes a few minutes to a few hours.
Download and Upload
Once you receive the email, download the ZIP file. You can upload the entire ZIP file to SocialDiff.io, or extract and upload the individual JSON files.
